Wednesday afternoon, as part of preparations for the third phase of elimination of the Confederation of North American football, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) which will be played in Nicaragua in April 2018, counting for the FIFA World Uruguay 2018 our Grenadières U-17 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22965-haiti-uruguay-2018-our-grenadieres-u-17-in-florida-for-two-friendly-matches.html made a painful experience in a friendly match at the International Management Group Academy (IMG Academy) in Bradenton, Florida where they was defeated [5-0] by the United States.

ndefeated for a year, 9 consecutive wins in the USA Cup last July not counting the victories over Puerto Rico, Cuba, Bermuda to become champions of the Caribbean, the only defeats in August 2016 before Mexico [0-2] and the USA [0-1] at CONCACAF U15 championship, our players have taken a serious moral blow they will have to work hard to erase this defeat.

Wednesday our Grenadières ad a lot of difficulties against the team of the world number 1 country of women's football, which was superior and dominated especially in rhythm and tactics. At the beginning of the game, the Americans imposed an infernal pace at the encounter with "a pressing" high that prevented our players to go out on the ball, forcing them to clear as they could to ward off the dangers that came from all sides.

Between 12' and 25' our national team conceded 3 goals on corner. Using their power the Americans kept control of the match and scored a fourth goal in stoppage time.

Half-time score [4-0] for the United States.

Back from the locker room our young Grenadières with other instructions gave the illusion of returning to the match with a nice trial of the left of Caremus and even an attempt by Daelle. But unable to withstand the pace and commitment of the United States, our Grenadières fought bravely with all their energy without being able to prevent a last center converted into goal in stoppage time [5-0] final score for the American team.

The correction was severe for our Grenadières but the Coaches Fiorda Charles and Wilner Lamarre were not disappointed "we learned a lot and we will benefit from this experience especially that we still have four months to straighten; we had overestimated ourselves and no doubt we have set foot in terms of physical preparation [...] we must regain our humility and insist on the physical trainers to work all the parameters because it is not in the game that we have been dominated but in rhythm, in aggressiveness in duels, where we were strong; it is also true that this match had arrived at the worst moment; since our last victory in the Caribbean Cup, the Group has not worked enough as a team, because several basic elements were with the U-20; the other adverse factor was especially the temperature, it is astonishing at this time of the year that it is so cold in Florida; our young girls have suffered a lot. But the experience is positive; it will be a defeat if we do not learn the lessons from it."

This Friday our Grenadières will enter its 2nd friendly match in another state of mind more humble, more brawler, more rigorous without doubt...
